A new law in New York now requires health care providers to learn nutrition continuing education; because every patient wants to hear from their doctor how to fix illness by eating food and drinking tea.
Every body needs to know which nutrients should be supplemented Vit D3 and Vit B12 and which nutrients should we eat?
Minerals work best by eating fresh whole plant foods.
Supplementation with Vit D needed if you are not able to expose your skin to the sun.
Supplementation with B Complex beneficial but B12 supplementation required for everyone no matter what diet you eat.
All the other nutrients, minerals and vitamins you can get by eating whole plant foods.
Fruits, low carb vegetables, legumes, starchy vegetables, whole intact unprocessed grains are the best sources of B vitamins, Iron, Calcium, Zinc, Magnesium.
Eating plants is more beneficial for Iron intake absorption and utilization than taking Iron tablets.
Medicaid, Medicare CMS all insurances should not pay for Iron or Calcium tablets.
There should be lab test results required to document the need for Iron supplementation prescriptions. Iron and calcium tablets and supplements cause side effects.
There are so many plant foods to satisfy Iron intake needs. What people need is a picture of all the plant foods that provide Iron and a prescription.
Rx: Eat one or more plant foods with Iron at every meal every day.
Don’t drink tea during meals because tea inhibits Iron absorption from both foods and tablets.
Drink 2 cups of cold unflavored water before meals for better digestion and weight management.
Drink tea in between meals; 2 hours before meals.
To those taking iron tablets: Don’t take your iron tablet with dairy, tea or with calcium supplements, antacids or acid blockers.
It’s better not to get Iron overload from tablets. Consume Iron from Plant Foods!
